We are proud to announce the following firms have merged into Duffy Kruspodin, LLP as of January 1, 2019: A.V. Arias & Co., of San Diego; Peggy Haflinger & Associates, Inc., of San Diego; and Landsman, Frank and Bloch of Beverly Hills.

A.V. Arias & Co. is a full service accounting firm well known for sophisticated income tax and estate planning services. These services include proprietary products such as Integrated Tax Plan, Accounts Receivable Financing and Intellectual Property strategies.  Its representation before the IRS and state departments of revenue have resulted in sophisticated private letter rulings, technical advice requests, protests etc. A.V. Arias & Company has operated in San Diego since 1981, and has business and individual clients all across the country.

Haflinger & Associates, Inc. has operated over 30 years in San Diego in the field of employee benefit plan(EBP) auditing and consulting.  Its founder, Peggy Haflinger’s expertise will contribute value-added counsel to our combined EBP audit client base. Most notably, Peggy has garnered a reputation in which sponsor clients can look to her for assistance with plan corrections, vendor selection and design opportunities especially for 401(k) plans. Peggy’s major source of EBP audit guidance has been through her association with the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center.  CPA firms that are accepted into this Quality Center must adhere to a higher standard of audit quality in their policies, procedures and training related to the performance of benefit plan audits.

Landsman, Frank and Bloch located in Beverly Hills, California has been around since 1958 and has recently celebrated its 60 years in business. The firm offers a full range of services complimentary to those offered by Duffy Kruspodin, including wide range of financial reporting and preparation of individual, corporate, limited liability company, partnership, not-for-profit, estate, trust, and gift tax returns. David Cox, CPA, Tax Partner in our Woodland Hills office with over 26 years’ experience in the public accounting field. David’s experience includes working with privately held companies in the areas of wealth transfer, tax planning, variety of industries including commercial and residential real estate, professional service practices, manufacturing & distribution, property management companies, high net worth families and entertainment. David graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 1992 with a degree in accounting.    In 1999 he earned a Master degree in Business Administration with a finance emphasis from the University of Southern California.   David is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Kevin Forootan, CPA/CGMA, Assurance Partner in our Woodland Hills office with 24 years of both private and public accounting experience.  Kevin leads our Woodland Hills assurance practice. Kevin’s industry experience is diverse and includes, manufacturing, retail, distribution, entertainment, insurance, non-profits, 401(k) plans and professional services. Kevin’s clients range from early-stage startups to well-established middle-market enterprises with domestic and international operations. His background in both public accounting and private industry allows him to offer practical insight into his clients’ accounting issues.   Services Kevin provide to his clients include audits, reviews and compilations under US generally accepted accounting principles; consultation on the development and implementation of effective internal controls over accounting and financial reporting, and the preparation of financials and cash flow projections.  Kevin is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, California Society of Certified Public Accountants, Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and graduated from California State University, Northridge.

Suzan R. Korth, EA, Tax Principal Partner in our University heights office with over 30 years of experience in the public accounting field. Suzie’s expertise includes working with private real estate investors, professional practices and small business owners with various needs, including providing outsourced accounting and finance services, income tax preparation and tax planning. Suzie serves on several non-profit Board of Directors as Treasurer. Suzie is a graduate of University of Phoenix, with a BS in Accounting. She is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and became an Enrolled Agent in 2016. Suzie is a strong advocate for a healthy lifestyle and has spear-headed many healthy activities with the office staff.
