SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist seniors with day-to-day activities of audit, review, and compilation engagements of various clients, including planning and performing a wide range of audit and accounting procedures impacting industry-specific issues
  • Complete engagement workpapers that are informative, well documented, cross-referenced, and can easily be understood and explained
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, footnote disclosures, and management letter comments
  • Begin to identify engagement discrepancies and technical issues and conduct basic technical research
  • Complete assigned projects within engagement timelines and budget guidelines
  • Communicate status of work and issues with seniors, managers, or partners on a timely basis
  • Achieve monthly and annual charge hour goals
  • Participate in in house training and informational meetings and advanced continuing education
  • Partake in firm recruiting events as well as participate in intern selection and training

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes 55+ hours a week during busy season
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
  • Active CPA license or eligibility to sit for CPA exam
  • At least one (1) year of relevant audit experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic understanding of accounting (US GAAP) and assurance (GAAS) procedures and standards
  • Ability to effectively work with and changing industry regulations, meet multiple deadlines with concurrent engagements, and understand internal control issues and concerns
  • Familiar with Accounting and Audit software, including CCH ProSystem fx (Engagement, Knowledge Coach), CCH Axcess, ProStaff, and Teammate Analytics
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
