SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the monitoring and evaluating day-to-day internal accounting activities for the firm, and will provide key support to budgeting, internal controls and process enhancements. In addition, the Accounting Manager oversees the preparation of semi-weekly and supplemental payroll cycles, and is responsible for finalizing each payroll cycle to ensure accurate and timely processing

Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes 50+ hours a week during period-end close.

The Accounting Manager must possess Bachelor of Accountancy. An MBA or CPA is desirable. This may be substituted with equivalent years of experience and continued education in some cases.

KEY COMPETENCIES:
 Prepare monthly closing journal entries, bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
 Prepare payroll-related journal entries.
 Review daily accounting transactions for proper GL codes, class codes and cut-offs to ensure accurate and timely period-end close.
 Monitor and analyze accounting data used to produce financial reports.
 Perform payroll reconciliations between accounting, HRIS and billing systems.
 Support collection activity as needed.
 Provide back-up support to AP & Billing Manager.
 In partnership with the Controller and process owners, create business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls, and to enhance the workflow of the department.
 Support the Controller with preparing monthly financial and partner equity reporting.
 Assist the Controller with annual and quarterly activities, e.g., budget, tax returns, 401k compliance, etc.
 Support M&A integrations.
 Participate in firm recruiting events as well as firm outreach events regarding future potential clients.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
 Must possess Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or business related major.
 5+ years of experience in a related position.
 Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting for privately-held organizations.
 Sound judgment and problem solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a customer-focused attitude with high level of professionalism and discretion.
 Familiar with Accounting and Payroll related software: QuickBooks, OnePoint HRIS, CCH Axcess, CCH Tax.
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with above average Excel skills.
